Liverpool’s premier destination for sustainable and innovative events, we proudly support this initiative by putting air quality at the heart of our venue’s design and operation.

As part of the Royal College of Physicians’ vision for healthier spaces, The Spine is one of the healthiest buildings in the UK. It is designed to meet the highest standards of environmental and human health, including the globally recognised WELL Platinum Standard, meaning that your guests attending an event at our venue benefit from exceptional indoor air quality that supports concentration, wellbeing, and productivity.

In collaboration with our Property Services team, we continuously monitor air quality across Spaces at The Spine, ensuring a clean and comfortable environment for every delegate. These standards are not only beneficial for health but also align with the growing demand for sustainable and responsible venues in Liverpool.

We’re also on a journey to achieve ISO 14001 certification, the international standard for environmental management systems, by 2026. This will reinforce our commitment to minimising environmental impact and being a leader in sustainable event delivery in the city region.

• Smart deliveries: we work with local suppliers who use low-emission vehicles, and our catering logistics are optimised to reduce unnecessary trips, helping lower pollution levels in the Paddington Village area
• Energy efficiency: advanced heating and cooling systems support cleaner air by increasing filtration efficiency while lowering our carbon footprint - a key concern for environmentally conscious event organisers
• Smoke-free environment: smoking is only permitted in a designated shelter outside the building, helping to maintain a fresh, smoke-free experience for all visitors
