Spaces at the Spine is delighted to have scooped Gold in the Venue Sustainability Award category of the Conference and Events Awards 2022.
The awards, organised by GCN Events, showcase the very best of the event industry and bring together professionals from the conference, exhibitions, consumer and corporate events, agencies, venues and association sectors.
Sustainability is at the very core of Spaces at the Spine’s operation and day-to-day business and sustainability strategies are an integral part of the venue’s design.
Speaking on Spaces at the Spine’s award entry, judges said: “This was a very impressive submission. Sustainability is evidently present as a core focus from the very beginning of the design stage and they are committed to creating a sustainable environment. A benchmark for others to measure themselves against.”
We are proud to have received this award in recognition of the efforts we go to minimise our environmental impact. Our venue plays a crucial role within the Liverpool community by establishing itself as a beacon of excellence and setting an example for future buildings and venues looking to implement sustainability into their design and operation.
The Spine has been designed to be one of the healthiest buildings in the world and it is on track to achieve WELL Platinum and BREEAM Excellence.
As a new build, The Spine gave the RCP the opportunity to incorporate sustainability at the initial design and build stage, meaning that we could ensure our building was able to meet a number of accessibility and sustainability measures.
The Spaces at The Spine offer supports all 10 concepts of the WELL Standard (Air, Water, Nourishment, Light, Movement, Thermal Comfort, Sound, Materials, Mind and Community), making it a dynamic, forward-thinking venue of the future and a beacon of excellence in Liverpool.
