Adding to a number of accreditations, Spaces at The Spine is now certified ECOsmart Gold, a leading title awarded to meeting venues and hotels looking to highlight their commitment to environmental sustainability.

Working closely with the Property Services team at the Royal College of Physicians (RCP) and our catering partner, Company of Cooks, we provided information about the venue that focused on six different categories: energy and water, building infrastructure, rooms and consumables, waste management, food and beverage, and ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance). 

As a result, Spaces at The Spine has achieved gold status, with feedback specifically mentioning the venue’s “extensive measures to fully embrace environmental sustainability, including comprehensive waste and food management”. 

Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do at Spaces at The Spine, and our recent ECOsmart Gold accreditation joins a collection of sustainability certifications that spotlight our efforts to create a greener future. These include:

• Green Star certification at Gold standard from the International Association of Conference Centres (IACC)
• BREEAM Outstanding certification, the highest attainable level 
• WELL Building Standard certification at the Platinum level, becoming the only venue in Liverpool to hold this prestigious title 

We’re now working towards the creation of a Venue Green Taskforce to continue improving our culture around sustainability and related initiatives.
