Prioritising our physical and mental wellbeing is now more important than ever. In a world that revolves around continuous digital connectivity and ever-increasing demands, finding spaces that support health, focus, and balance is essential.
At Spaces at The Spine, we believe wellbeing should be blended into every experience to help better manage stress, daily functionality and more. That’s why we started the year with an exclusive breakfast event on 30 January, designed to inspire healthier habits and showcase the impact of wellbeing-focused events.
With our venue proudly WELL Certified at the Platinum level by the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI), our goal was to thank our valued clients and showcase how wellbeing can be integrated within events at Spaces at The Spine to enhance delegates’ experience.
By starting the year with a focus on what truly matters – physical and mental wellbeing – we were delighted to welcome over 50 guests to enjoy a selection of breakfast dishes and alcohol-free drinks in The Axis, while taking part in a morning of wellness-focused activities, each thoughtfully crafted around some of the WELL Building Standard Principles:
To help incorporate healthy food choices into everyday diets, we worked alongside our catering partner, Company of Cooks, to offer a series of ‘make your own protein balls’ workshops led by our head chef, Gareth Penn. Featuring energy-packed ingredients including dates, dried fruits, goji berries and more, guests could make nutritious on-the-go snacks to start their day on a healthy note.
Based on the principle of encouraging movement into daily routines, we challenged guests to ‘Climb The Spine’ by walking the 360 steps to our event spaces located on the top floor, where sweeping views of the city awaited in our dining space, The Axis.
We partnered with Liverpool-based company, Harmony Wellness to explore the principle of sound and create an acoustically pleasing environment. Throughout the morning, we offered three 30-minute immersive sound bath sessions for guests to focus on breathwork against a soundtrack of relaxing chimes, bells and more.
A sound bath is a gentle meditation session where instruments such as crystal bowls are used to create therapeutic sounds. These vibrations can help calm the mind and reduce stress levels, soothe the nervous system, release physical tension and enhance focus.
Finally, to help aid the mental and emotional wellbeing of all those invited, a digital affirmation board was made available for attendees to share positivity and write notes of encouragement.
Alongside these activities, guests also had the opportunity to connect with a few of our valued suppliers. Hobs Repro was on hand to share insights into their sustainable printing services for those occasional needs when being paperless isn’t possible. Guests were also treated to a thoughtful gift from Liverpool-born Brew Tea Co., which provided a selection of their premium tea bags to take home.
Suzanne Watson, Business Development Manager at Visit Liverpool, who attended said:
“The event at Spaces at The Spine was a fantastic demonstration of how seamlessly wellbeing can be integrated into professional gatherings. From the carefully curated activities to the engaging suppliers, every detail emphasised the importance of balance and wellness in the workplace.”
