Since opening our doors in 2021, Spaces at The Spine has quickly become an award-winning venue, earning prestigious accolades like Business Events Venue at the Liverpool City Region Tourism Awards.
But the recognition doesn’t stop with the judges – our team is just as passionate about the space they work in every day.
On Valentine's Day, the day of love, we caught up with some of them to discuss what they like most about the venue. From the seamless blend of innovation and carefully curated spaces to spotlighting our sustainability and wellness policies, there is so much to love about Spaces at The Spine.
Whether our visitors are looking to host live, online or hybrid events, our built-in audio-visual technology and seamless production services combined with our friendly in-house AV team ensure all events hosted here run smoothly.
Our expert technicians know the building inside and out – from our agile audio-visual systems, such as wireless microphones and assistive listening solutions in every space, to best-in-class connectivity that interlinks the whole building and unique technology spaces such as the Wolfson Virtual Theatre with its wall of screens and the Wolfson Lecture Theatre, we’re ready to deliver engaging, high-impact presentations.
Wellbeing-enhancing features can be found everywhere within our venue, with design elements and features playing more than an aesthetic role.
For example, the repeating patterns found in nature - such as the Voronoi pattern decorating the building's facade - and the earth-toned, neutral colour palette of our spaces and decor help to create a calming environment for everyone who walks through our doors.
Known to have a positive impact on wellbeing, the biophilia throughout our spaces helps both our team and clients feel more relaxed. Plus, each plant that calls Spaces at The Spine home has been carefully selected to enhance wellness and contribute to a healthier indoor environment.
Located in the beating heart of Liverpool's Knowledge Quarter, our venue is one of the only places in the city where visitors can see most of Liverpool’s major landscapes in one place, including the two cathedrals, Royal Albert Dock, the Radio City Tower and so much more.
One of our favourite event spaces, The Axis, boasts some of the most beautiful and unrivalled panoramic views over the city and the River Mersey, making it the perfect space for sunset drinks receptions and fine dining events.
Spaces at The Spine has been designed with sustainability at its core, making it much easier for us to implement and follow our eco-friendly policies.
Recycled materials like fishing nets and plastic bottles were used to create our carpets and wallpaper, whilst real oak and timber have been used throughout the venue and for furniture to stand the test of time.
Combined with a smart building management system, LED Lighting and more, we’re proud to offer a venue that reduces our impact on the environment.
Last but certainly not least: food!
Our catering partner Company of Cooks shares our passion for delicious food, creativity, and sustainability. We have been collaborating since day one to create an innovative catering solution blending wellbeing, sustainability, and local and seasonal produce – in line with the WELL Building Standard key concept of Nourishment.
Additionally, our on-site wellness cafe, The Base, serves up hearty, locally sourced dishes, from seasonal salads to plant-based specials, which everyone in the community can enjoy.
Hydration and wellbeing are top of the agenda too with herbal teas and health shots on offer. Plus, our regular community events bring people together to relax and socialise, such as our Base After Hours event every Thursday.
The Spine is located in Paddington Village at the heart of the Knowledge Quarter in Liverpool’s City Centre.
